Probiotic sounds like a fancy name, but did you know that there are simple foods that have been used by healers for hundreds of years and believed to give health & long life to those who eat them? During this class, we will demonstrate how to make four health enhancing probiotic foods, and will have a chance to taste-test them too! These are easy, inexpensive, and kid-tested ways to add to your healthy diet. We will learn about the following:
**Kombucha Tea ..."contains many different cultures along with several organic acids, active enzymes, amino acids, and polyphenols.[3)...Health claims for kombucha focus on a chemical called glucuronic acid, a compound that is used by the liver for detoxification." **Caspian Sea Yogurt is a drinkable yogurt you can make on the counter at room temperature, which will increase intestinal flora naturally, preventing many pathogenic germs like salmonella, E. coli, and Candida.
