*Little Tricks for Healthier Food
Tentative Date: Thursday, January 24, 2008 @6:30pm
Developing a healthy lifestyle doesn’t always happen overnight. This class shows you how to develop simple methods into your current lifestyle that can make a big difference to you and your family’s health without doing a total flip-flop to your agenda. We will share & discuss family friendly cooking using healthy ingredient substitutes, sugar and chemical sweetener free baking, and kid-friendly healthy meals.
Bring your favorite healthy dish & recipe for a night of fun & taste-worthy perspectives that show you how easy health can be!
*Introduction to Herbalism
Tentative Date: Thursday, February 21, 2008 @6:30pm
In this class, we will learn the basics of using herbs and wild plants to promote healing. We will cover over 20 common herbs and their uses. We will also discuss different forms of herbal remedies and how they are used.
*Making Herbal Medicine BASIC/ADVANCED

*NOTE* Introduction to Herbalism is a prerequisite of this class
This class focuses specifically on how to make your own herbal medicine at home. We will discuss ratios & plant combinations for powders, tinctures, teas, tonics, and infusions. This class offers a hands-on learning experience of making and dosing your own herbal medications. You may need to bring your own supplies from a list that will be provided. Both dates are required for Certificate of Completion.
*Using Food to Heal- Food Based Healing as the Fundamentals of Natural Health
Tentative Date: Thursday, April 25, 2008 @6:30pm
This class focuses on the importance of proper diet to regain and keep your health and high immunities. We will learn about certain foods and food forms that have been proven to help the body heal diseases of all levels. Fermentation, sprouting, raw foods, and practices of today’s food industry will be discussed. We will especially focus on gut health and the importance of Probiotics in Western society. Some samples to taste will be provided- this will be a lot of fun! Probiotic starters & heirloom seeds may be available for purchase at the end of class.
*Christian Views in Natural Health
Tentative Date: TBA 2008 @6:30pm
This class illustrates the beauty of life from our creator and the aspects within this natural world that benefit our bodies. We will consider how the world’s natural systems have changed through major biblical events such as the fall into sin, and the great flood. We will discuss belief differences in a handful of natural healing methods, as well as spiritual safety when seeking natural care alternatives, and spiritual influence in healing.
*How to Know What’s Real in Today’s Market…. is there a way???

Do you know what the standards are for labels to contain words such as “All Natural” and “Organic”??? What’s the real definition? Which is better? Is it really worth paying extra? In this class we will discuss many of these type questions, as well as standards and practices in today’s market. Come prepared, this one might really be an eye opener!
